They are disturbing to me as someone who loves animals- & as someone that is concerned for our food supply.
The rat's below were not exposed to arsenic, lead or any other such poison. They ate GMO foods for 2 years in a an experiment that removes any doubt in my mind that there is something very wrong with our food.
This study released today shows herbicides & GMO's produce powerful effect on the liver, kidneys, and increase frequency & rate of tumor growth. It gives us insight into what GMO's over time can do to our bodies. It's plain to see what they have done to these poor rats' bodies. The original article is here.
I tried to read the study but as I am not a scientist, I had a pretty difficult time. The discussion notes near the bottom of the study were pretty clear- even for a layman. Here's just a small segment of the discussion below...
"The lifespan of the control group of animals corresponded to the mean rat lifespan, but as is frequently the case with most mammals including humans (WHO, 2012), males on average died before females, except for some female treatment groups. All treatments in both sexes enhanced large tumor incidence by 2–3-fold in comparison to our controls (CONTROLS NOT FED GMO). In our study the tumors also developed considerably faster than the controls, even though the majority of tumors were observed after 18 months. The first large detectable tumors occurred at 4 and 7 months into the study in males and females respectively, underlining the inadequacy of the standard 90 day feeding trials for evaluating GM crop and food toxicity."
Whether the sample is GMO, Control, Roundup Only or GMO + Roundup is clearly labeled at the bottom left of each photo.
"C" is for Control. "R" is for Roundup. They did experiments with GMO & Roundup(GMO+R), & they just fed GMO with NO Roundup for comparison (just "R").
